In that case best would be to have console version with keyboard and mouse support. After a while to simplify production, they might start streamlining this to PC version too and that would be a thing to worry about. My main worry would be that if we would have a WoW console version, it would probably bring the simplification and pruning of (the already simple) class spells to ease the gamepad layout. If Blizzard would want to bring WoW to console this would be a first step to test the concept. Like gamepads are slower, and need more key combinations to handle all those spells.įor some people it would be no issue and might play just as good as key+mouse players. It's primary purpose is to handle DualShock 4 or Xbox/Xinput controller input and convert it into button presses and mouse movements which are then sent to WoW and processed by ConsolePort, an addon for World of Warcraft. (For questing or herb gathering might even try it, but not for raid and dungeon) WoWmapper is part of a project aimed at bringing true controller functionality to World of Warcraft. personally though i'd rather not have to ever play with console gamers either, they'd be the worst of the worst. I get FF14 does it fine but that game was made with console in mind from day 1, it would be a huge waste of dev time to make it work for WoW. The amount of headaches that would cause is just not worth it. No thank you, we don't need more players so theres no reason to degrade (for lack of a better word) the community. Either way I think the more the merrier, people should be able to play however they like and this is a good step towards doing that. But personally I think it'll be fun to just lean back and level my characters in shadowlands on a controller but I'll definitely be raiding on a mouse and keyboard. Only really because I think people might get concerned that they start making the game more controller-centric which would most likely be a cause for there to be less spells and abilities as you wouldn't fit as many on a controller. I can understand why there could be outrage for some at this. One is a single player game the other is an MMO. You must not have seen the reactions when the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn was announced. I know this playerbase gets pissy at the thought but if WoW came to consoles can you imagine the amount of new players?
